On June 7, 2014, the Cummins Cummins new plant in Beijing held a mass production off-line ceremony for Cummins ISG series heavy-duty engines. The research and development process of this series of engines lasted five years. After repeated tests in various environments, two models have been introduced to the market to meet the diversified needs of the global market.
It is understood that the ISG series engines are produced in the newly-built heavy-duty factory of Beijing Foton Cummins Engine Co., Ltd. The current installed capacity is 60,000 units, and the production capacity can be increased to 120,000 units depending on the market development.
Lan Bowen, Cummins Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, said: "ISG is a revolutionary platform. Its birth marks the first time Cummins has created an innovative green heavy-duty power for the Chinese market."
It is reported that Cummins and Foton will also carry out further cooperation. On April 8, Cummins has signed a development contract with Foton Cummins for the fourth phase of non-road use and the Euro 6 emission standard for highway engines.
