Heavy-duty chemical process pump selection instructions

API610 and VDMA24297A are common standards for heavy-duty chemical process pumps.
API, short for American Petroleum Institute. The purpose of publishing API 610 standards is to provide a procurement specification to facilitate the manufacture and procurement of centrifugal pumps. The API 610 (Seventh Edition) is a centrifugal pump for petroleum refinery proposed under the standard name "Centrifugal Pumps for General Refinery Services." However, in fact, the API610 standard is not only used in the oil refinery, petroleum, chemical, natural gas and other fields are often used API610 standard. To meet this need, API 610 (Eighth Edition), renamed in 1995 as "Centrifugal Pumps for Petroleum, Heavy Chemical, and Gas Industry Services" A version of the larger changes.

API610 is concerned about the issue of energy saving. The API 610 requires manufacturers and end-users to actively seek innovative, energy-saving methods in the manufacturing, selection and operation of equipment. This method of saving energy should be encouraged if it increases efficiency and reduces the total cost of use without sacrificing safety or reliability. In addition, the evaluation criteria for the selection of equipment should be based on the total cost of the equipment over its useful life, rather than the equipment procurement costs.

Currently in the oil and chemical industries, API610 is the most frequently used centrifugal pump with international standards. International Organization for Standardization also adopted the API610 standard, paid to the standard number ISO / CD13709. API 610 sets minimal requirements for centrifugal pumps used in the petroleum, heavy chemical and natural gas industries, including those used as reversing pumps for hydraulic recovery turbines. Centrifugal pumps complying with the API 610 standard are often referred to as API pumps.

API pump continuous operation cycle of at least 3 years, high reliability. The API pump is suitable for a wide range of applications. There are three major types of pumps involved in this type of pump, namely Overhung, Between Bearings and Vertical Suspended. Table 1. For non-flammable, non-hazardous media, API 610 provides that when the pump inlet pressure <0.5MPa gauge, outlet pressure <1.9MPa gauge, pump temperature <150 ℃, speed <3600r / min, <120m, impeller diameter (cantilever pump) <330mm, the entire standard is not required to comply with API610. However, it should meet the relevant requirements of API 610 in terms of service life, materials, shaft rigidity, mechanical seals, bearings, auxiliary piping, etc. and require the buyer to specify in the RFQ which requirements can be relaxed.

Relative to ordinary carbon steel substrates can only be used below 380 °C, low alloy heat-resistant steel plates work below 540 °C. This shows how high the wear resistance of the heat-resistant steel plate.

3, good corrosion resistance

The wear-resistant steel plate contains a large amount of metallic chromium, so it has good rust and corrosion resistance. Particularly suitable for the use of falling coal drums and funnels. Not only solid and strong, but also to prevent sticking coal.
