Since its inception, it has been the first domestically produced brand of LED phosphors. It is not surprising that domestic manufacturers have researched the rise of rare earths. From 2011 to 2013, the sales of rare earth LED phosphors have maintained a 100% growth rate for four consecutive years. Liu Ronghui used the numbers to show the history of the development of rare earth LED phosphors. As soon as the domestic LED phosphor competition is becoming increasingly fierce, the growth rate of rare earth LED phosphors in 2014 is expected to reach 50 or so. An important factor in the decline in growth rate is the dramatic decline in the market price of phosphors. Indeed, phosphors have not escaped the price war. Taking red powder as an example, the price in October 2013 still stayed at 90 yuan to 120 yuan / gram. In June 2014, some small manufacturers even shouted the price of 35 yuan / gram. The quality of researching rare earths is still relatively recognized, and we are taking a relatively high-end route. Liu Ronghui’s implication is that the research on rare earths adheres to the principle of quality first, and will not participate in the bottomless price reduction. The history of the sales of various types of phosphors is the history of various LED lighting. In Liu Ronghui's view, early LED products did not use red powder or green powder. The most demanded was yellow powder, because it was popular white light at the time, mainly used in outdoor lighting; now the yellow powder in the low-profit state gradually withdraws from the mainstream market, and is not in the early stage. The optimistic red and green powders have become the scent of LED manufacturers because they can make high marks. The LED lighting market's pursuit of high color rendering index and high light efficiency has never stopped. However, theoretically, high color rendering index and high light efficiency have always been contradictory. How to find a balance between the two has become the key. As early as two years ago, the research on rare earths proposed high-efficiency yellow-green powder plus high-index red powder. Optimizing this combination can simultaneously improve the color rendering index and light efficiency. To this end, the research of rare earth also shouted the slogan, do high-profile, find a research. According to reports, rare earth products have covered yellow, green and red full-band phosphors. The main compound systems are aluminates and nitrides. Among them, more than ten aluminate yellow-green powders and more than ten kinds of nitride red powders can be related. Regularly and effectively combined and matched, it can fully meet the market demand of high color rendering and high brightness white LED. The future demand for green powder, yellow green powder and red powder will become larger and larger. This is also the main product of researching rare earth. Liu Ronghui said. Patents have always been a big tool for phosphor manufacturers, especially for export-oriented companies, seeking patented products is an important consideration. From the domestic scale, it is still relatively early to study the layout of rare earth patents. In addition to the authorization of nearly 20 Chinese invention patents, it has obtained 7 authorized invention patents in the United States, South Korea and Japan, which can provide necessary intellectual property protection for the export of domestic LED devices. There are research rare earths that apply for international patents every year. Applying for a patent abroad will require about 50,000 yuan, or even 60,000 yuan, which does not include subsequent patent maintenance fees. For small phosphor manufacturers, such patent costs are hard to imagine, but for the international layout of rare earth products, this is a must.
