Researchers at Stanford University have recently developed a new type of wearable sensor that can more accurately monitor the heart, and can also replace catheters inserted into the blood vessels to obtain accurate blood pressure, more humane and comfortable.
This wearable sensor is made of organic materials and has a very small form factor. It is only stamp-sized and is as thin as paper. The researchers fabricated the microsensor by compressing the middle thin layer of rubber and covering it with pyramidal bumps.
This sensor can be taped to the wrist and when the pressure is applied, the bumps on the sensor will deform slightly to detect changes in the electromagnetic field and current in the device. Therefore, this sensor can measure continuous pulse and can continuously measure the heart without affecting the patient's life.
