China Petrochemical Corporation issued a press release today saying that the heat-resistant polyethylene, a new type of plastic material jointly developed by the Qilu Petrochemical Research Institute and the plastics factory, has been certified by a third-party testing and certification organization at the National Chemical Building Materials Testing Center for 8,760 hours. After rigorous testing and appraisal, it was judged as type II heat-resistant polyethylene material, and its various performance indicators have reached the same foreign products.

Since 2010, Qilu Petrochemical has repeatedly conducted trial production of metallocene catalyst-resistant polyethylene pipe materials on pilot plants. In April 2011, Qilu Petrochemical Research Institute successfully developed a heat-resistant polyethylene pipe material in a high-density polyethylene plant. The product achieved industrialization and filled the domestic gap. In 2012, Qilu Petrochemical realized the industrial mass production of this product and further expanded its production scale. In late July, it successfully passed the Grade II certification of the National Chemical Building Materials Testing Center.

It is understood that heat-resistant polyethylene (referred to as PE-RT) is a kind of synthesis using special molecular design and polymerization process. The heat-resistant polyethylene tube made of heat-resistant polyethylene as the main raw material has six advantages: good thermal stability and long-term pressure resistance, and the service life can reach 50 years; the processing difficulty is small, the production process is less, and the product quality is stable; It has good flexibility, easy construction, good impact resistance, high safety, and can be transported and constructed under low temperature environment; the ability to withstand external impact is much higher than other pipes, which can prevent the damage to the system caused by rough construction; Can be hot melt connection, easy installation and maintenance; engineering installation costs, low maintenance costs, with a higher cost performance.

According to market forecasts, the raw materials used in heat-resistant polyethylene pipes in China are all imported and their prices are high. With the acceleration of urbanization in China, the consumption of indoor heating pipes in new residential buildings will increase, and the demand for raw materials will increase.
