Rite Aid Stops Using Apple Payments

According to reports, makeup company Rite Aid stopped accepting the payment system Apple just launched. The reason for this is the conflict between Apple Payments and the CurrentC mobile payment system. Unlike Apple charges, CurrentC does not use an NFC chip, but instead generates a QR code to display on the merchant's checkout terminal and completes the transaction. When Apple announced the payment of Apple in early September, both Wal-Mart and Best Buy stated that they did not plan to adopt the new system. Both are partners with MCX, as well as other major retailers such as Darden Restaurant and Sears Holdings.
MCX has been working on mobile payment solutions since 2011, and the motivation behind its efforts is to allow merchants to avoid paying transaction fees of 2% to 3%. This attitude should help promote Apple's payment, but retailers have already invested in CurrentC. The system has already begun actual testing and is planned to be officially used early next year. CurrentC has the advantage of working with existing checkout terminals, while Apple Payment requires most retailers to purchase new equipment.
